Coming Home: The Nostalgic Scent of Country Home and the Essential Oils That Make It

There's a particular kind of memory that lives in scent. Not the kind you have to reach for — the kind that finds you. A warm afternoon. An open window. Roses in full bloom just outside, their fragrance drifting in on a breeze that smells like summer and home.

That's Country Home.

The Inspiration

Country Home is a nostalgic fragrance — one that takes you back to growing up surrounded by nature, where the garden was always in bloom and the air carried something sweet and green and alive. It's the olfactory equivalent of a front porch in July: unhurried, familiar, and deeply comforting.

Fragrance notes of green leaves and rose anchor the scent in that memory. But it's the essential oils underneath that give it depth, warmth, and staying power.

The Story Behind the Scent

Country Home isn't just a fragrance — it's a memory.

I spent most of my life at a country home that my mother filled with roses. They grew around the front porch and wrapped around the back deck, blooming every summer in a way that made the whole property feel alive. Some of my earliest memories are of gardening alongside her — hands in the soil, the air thick with petals and green and warmth.

When I set out to create this candle, I wasn't just blending oils. I was trying to bottle that feeling — the unhurried sweetness of a summer afternoon, the way rose fragrance drifts on a breeze, the comfort of a place that always felt like home.

That's what Country Home is. A scent memory. A front porch in July. A garden that still blooms every time you light the wick.

Meet the Essential Oils

Fragrance Notes: Green Leaves + Rose

Orange Essential Oil

The first thing you notice is brightness. Orange essential oil opens the fragrance with a clean, sun-warmed citrus lift — the kind that feels like stepping outside on a clear morning. It keeps Country Home from feeling heavy, adding a freshness that makes the rose notes feel alive rather than perfumed.

Amyris Essential Oil

Lesser known but quietly essential, amyris is sometimes called "West Indian sandalwood" — a creamy, slightly woody oil with a soft, balsamic warmth. It acts as a natural fixative, helping the other oils linger longer and blend more seamlessly. In Country Home, amyris is the quiet foundation: you may not notice it on its own, but you'd miss it if it were gone.

Sandalwood Essential Oil

Rich, smooth, and grounding, sandalwood adds the final layer of depth that transforms Country Home from a simple floral into something more complex and lasting. It softens the rose, warms the green, and gives the whole fragrance a velvety finish that lingers long after the wick goes out.

Together — orange, amyris, and sandalwood — these oils turn a beautiful floral concept into a fully realized sensory experience. Floral, green, and rose on the surface. Warm, creamy, and grounded underneath.
